Selection Guide
When selecting the appropriate CHT Ceramic Hydroxyapatite Media type, the size of the molecule to be purified is the primary consideration.
For large molecules, such as viruses or IgMs, CHT Ceramic Hydroxyapatite Type II Media is recommended due to its larger pore size.
If the virus is small enough, CHT Ceramic Hydroxyapatite XT Media may also be suitable. For smaller molecules under 400 kD, like IgGs or recombinant proteins, the isoelectric point becomes the main consideration, where acidic molecules are best purified using CHT Ceramic Hydroxyapatite Type I Media, while neutral or basic molecules are suited for CHT Ceramic Hydroxyapatite XT Media, with CHT Ceramic Hydroxyapatite Type II Media serving as a backup option.
